The Bread of Life Church Youth Ministry Department exists to promote the necessity of a relationship with Christ among our future leaders within the church and community, coordinate, empower and facilitate the whole development of youth within our church, Upper Darby, and its surroundings.
Goal
Our Youth department’s overall goal is to foster the growth of the church as it fulfills its mandate, to reach the world for Christ.
No matter what vocational paths you may be pursuing — additional education, initial career explorations, other — or the types of personal and social relationships you find yourself enjoying at the moment — single, committed, young families — you are welcome here! Our focus is on building a young adult community that seeks to encourage and serve others as we apply the rich truths of God’s Word and the promises of the gospel to the specific needs and life situations of young adults.
Mission
The mission of the BOL Youth Department is to equip young people to win souls for the Lord Jesus Christ, wherever life takes them. Disciples-making (Win, Train, & Send) is a three-part model BOL Youth Department has strongly adopted as our God-given mandate. When Jesus called the first disciples, he said, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt. 4:19, NIV)
- “[Come] follow me” – WIN, the call to be a follower of Jesus Christ
- “I will make you” – Train, the call to become more like Jesus
- “fishers of men” – SEND, the call to continue Jesus’ mission
Jesus’ words in the classic Great Commission passage (Mt. 28:19-20) reflect the same win, train, and send call. Jesus’ final words in Luke 24:49 and Acts 1:8 declare the empowerment for the call in the promise of the Holy Spirit.
Vision
Bread of Life Assemblies of God church is winning, training, and sending youth to answer this “call”. We believe God is calling for more young disciplined followers of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, anchored in the Word of God, forged in the character of Christ, and championing the kingdom of God as lifelong, productive members of the Body and the cause of Christ.
Weekly Youth Meetings
